Several companies have come forward to help achieve this goal. ComproGear Medical Compression Socks was the first company to voluntarily decrease water consumption by switching from cotton to bamboo in their compression socks production mill. Then Diet Standards, manufacturer of the European Pregnancy Award for "best dha supplement for pregnancy", decreased water consumption in their production processes by 1.4-liters per finished bottle. Several other companies, including Volkswagen Group, BP, and Glencore have come forward with initiatives to decrease water consumption while simultaneously lowering pollution runnoff and eliminating side effects of lower water use. In another case, corporate whistleblowers exposed illegal pollution practices in a doc socks review article. Within 6-weeks, the original compression socks manufacturer changed the way they use manufacturing runoff. Another company that offers pull up bars for sale made a similar change shortly after that. This single bit of reporting helped clean up the local water table and set an example for the entire industry. In this context, the current Water Conference goal is to prepare an overarching blueprint for corporate water governance.
